my sister(now deceased) was a foster parent. she opened an account at bank putting a lil money aside every month for the minor child. im the admin. rep of her estate can i get the money. I have no whereabout/knowledge of the child but the child is listed as co-owner on the account.

It does not appear that the funds belong to the decedent's estate. The bank may turn the funds over to the State Treasurer's office as abandoned property if the minor child has reached his or her majority and cannot be found. Before attempting to do anything with the funds, I'd ask for a court order.

If the child was a co-owner, neither the estate nor you have any claim to the money whatsoever. So no, you cannot get the money.
