Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
My sister is trying to make me sign over an annuity check for money I owed that was borrowed from my mom. My mom passed away and we are dispersing the money. I never signed any legal note or document stating that I would repay this money to my mom but, we have been paying the mortgage she took out on the house to lend us the money. Is there any legal obligation I have in repaying my sister the full amount that I borrowed from my mom????

Why would you have to pay your sister whatever you owed to your mom? If there is a probate estate, all of this can be handled and disposed of in court. Whoever is administering your mom's probate estate can decide whether to seek repayment from you or not, through the court, and then distibute the proceeds to your mom's creditors or lawful heirs. You may want to consult an attorney.
