In the state of illinois who is financially responsible for burying the deceased-is it the deceased spouse or the deceased children

It all depends on what arrangements the deceased made before he/she died. If no one claims the body and no arrangements were made for burial or cremation, the State will ultimately dispose of the remains and bill the Estate for the costs.
