Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Is a testamentary trust required to give an accounting of cash flow, balances, and expenditures to the beneficiaries? A testamentary trust for me and my two siblings was established following the death of our mother nearly 6 years ago. None of us has anything more than the basic idea of the property contained in the trust when it was created.

Generally speaking, a trustee should be providing annual accountings to the current beneficiaries of the trust. Have you asked for an accounting? I recommending taking a copy of the trust to a probate attorney to discuss your options.
Yes. If there has not been any communication with the trustee about this, then make a polite request. If you do not receive anything, follow up with a simple letter. If these steps have already been taken and do not get you anywhere, then have an attorney make the request.
