Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Time frame for probate of a simple will

My husband and his 3 siblings are named in their aunts will. Their aunt passed away 3 months ago and we are being told that it will be another 8 to 10 months to have this settled. We are trying to find out the procedures of probate and the normal time that it takes.
