Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Trust Situs
My mother's trust states: '' after my death the situs of this agreement may be changed by the unanimous consent of all the beneficiaries eligble to recieve distributions of net income under this agreement. If such consent is obtained the beneficiaries shall notify my Trustee in writing of such change in trust situs and if necessary designate a successor corporate fiduciary in the new situs.'' What does this mean? What is a situs?

Re: Trust Situs
Situs=location. If all the beneficiaries of the trust were to suddenly move to, say, Florida, and they all decided they'd rather have the trust exist and be administered in Florida, then they can vote on it and move the whole thing there.
