what if you cannot find the original will of a decedent. how do you handle probate of the estate

The estate may still be probated if you have a copy of the will, although you will need some additional paperwork. You need to speak with an attorney specializing in probate.

A copy of the Will may be probated under certain circumstances. If it is not admitted to probate, then the previous original Will would control, or if none, then the estate would go through probate as an intestate estate.
