last will in testament

my father past away. he does not have a living spouse and left the property to the child that takes care of him. what's do we do next? there is another child that is not contesting the will...

File the will, and if there is any assets in the estate, it has to go through probate (normally). It should be no big deal though.

Depends on the amount of money involved and the debts your father had.

The will needs to be filed and potentially probated.

If real estate is involved (that is, if title to your dad's home was held only in his name, rather than in both of your names as joint tenants), or if there is more than $100,000 in personal property, then you must go thru probate.
