Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Wills how long they last after deceased

my father from my knowledge never read his moms will,

now their is a definite contention, a piece of property which we believe was suppose to go to him was signed over to another family member 10 years after her death (according to the deed it was a quick claim and was signed by his mother, she was dead at the time it was signed) how many years after a death can you bring up an issue from a will?

It really depends, though I suspect the claim should have been brought long ago. However, if the land was not properly probated, then theoretically you father could still make a claim. I recommend you show your grandmother's will, and the deed, to a competent attorney in the county in which the property is located, or the county in which your grandmother lived before her death. Feel free to call me, Larry Stein, at (630) 221-1755.
