Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
wills and trusts
The lawyer handling my fathers will has not explained to me the terms set forth in the will. A trust is set up and I am confused as to why he never called to tell me what to expect from him as being the lawyer who is handling this will. Now it has come out of probate and went to the bank in a trust and I am confused as to why I cant get any of the principal only income from the money in trust. Can I get a lawyer on my own to explain the legal jargon to me so I can understand?

Re: wills and trusts
The estate's lawyer does not directly represent you. He represents the executor and/or trustee. You certainly can get a lawyer on your own to explain to you what your rights under the will/trust are and to advocate for you to ensure that you receive everything you may be entitled to. If you would like to discuss, feel free to call me at (847) 991-2250.
