If a person dies and only leaves a trust but not a will how does this work?

Re: wills & trusts
The trust would control only assets titled in the trust. Assets titled solely in the decedent's name (with no beneficiary designation) would then pass to the decedent's legal heirs under state intestacy law, not under the terms of the trust.

Re: wills & trusts
property in the name of the trust gets distributed by the terms of the trust.
all of the other property gets distributed down the family tree.
