Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

Old Back Injury

If an injury was covered under Workman's comp by the employer and the injury still exists 4 years later, could I still be covered under this employer's workman's comp after employment with the company ceases?

Re: Old Back Injury

I am an attorney in Illinois who does only Workers' Comp cases. I could help you with this but I would need more facts. If you never filed a case and are four years past injury, any claim you may have is probably barred by the Statute of Limitations. However, there are exceptions to this rule and must be examined carefully. If you come under one of the exceptions, I would be interested in handling a claim for you if you are somewhere in the five country area around Chicago. Please feel free to call me at my toll free number at 1-877-CompJoe. I look forward to your call.
