Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

carpel tunnel

I have sever carpel tunnel in both arms. When my Primary doctor diagnosed it He felt it was sever enough to schedule surgery right away. A second opinion agreed with my primary Dr.

My employer has turned it in to workman comp. Now my surgery has been cancelled until workmen's comp decides if is a workmen's comp case or not. They are wanting to video tape me at work. I Have ran a printing press and rewinder for about 14 years. I am positive my job has created this problem over the years.

So my question is Should I allow them to video tape me? And is this serious enough that I should speak to an attorney?

Thank you,

Kimmie

Re: carpel tunnel

In my opinion, this is definitely serious enough for you to speak to an attorney. Your employer should know what type of work you do without the need for you to be videotaped, but this, as well as other aspects of your case require further analysis. Please feel free to call my office at 312-357-1431 for a free consultation.

Re: carpel tunnel

Kimmie - I would not advise a client to allow an insurance company to video tape him/her. But you are in a situation that can be very difficult for you without a lawyer. A lot depends on who the insurance company is and the strength of your doctor's opinion. If you would like to discuss your situation with me in greater detail call me at 312-913-1900. If you are in the Chicago area, I may be able to help you. Joe Spingola

Re: carpel tunnel

Whether or not you should allow the insurance company to videotape you is something that you should discuss with an attorney immediatly. The insurance companies will try various excuses to cheat you out of what you deserve. On your own, you are an easy pray. Always... Always, talk to an attorney before you agree with anything the insurance company is proposing.

good luck!
