Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois
Do I have a claim?
My employer was repairing the entrance to the parking lot. Work on the entrance had not progressed for three weeks or so. Entering the driveway I hit a rough, loose area of gravel churned up by traffic the previous day and laid my motorcycle down sustaining broken bones that will require surgery to repair. Is this a WC injury? I don't know myself. I cannot work as both hands also were injured. Writing is impossible. Typing difficult and slow.

It is possible that it be considered a WC claim because you were, from what I understand, on your way to work. There are some exceptions--as they say the devil is in the detail.
