Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

Seeing a doctor

I have a lawyer for a few months and on my request I am seeing a doctor. The thing is that the lawyer talked to the insurance company and they have both decided which doctor should I see. I was only informed and asked when can I go and see that doctor. I never had to deal with any legal issue before, so I wonder if this is a normal practice? Shouldn't the lawyer make that decision with me, about the doctor, and then inform the insurance company? Thanks.

Re: Seeing a doctor

I would never let the insurance company choose which doctor my client is going to see. You choose.
