Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

inury to lower back

I broke my 4 lower lumbar vertabrae at work(transverse process fractures) no cord damage. I do not know a thing about W/C. Do I need to do anything now to protect myself - hopefully I can go back to work and if I do does that mean no settlement other than medical bills - just want to get info to protect myself

Re: inury to lower back

Dear Sirs:

You have a workmen's compensation case.

Under the Illinois Workmen's Compensation Act, you have a right to recover for medical bills, lost wages, retraining expenses, as well as other elements of damage.

We have sucessfully handled many such cases in the past.

Please call us to discuss.

Many thanks,

John

What if you can't go back to work? You have rights under the Workers Compensation Act. You need a lawyer to tell you what those rights are and work to get them for you. Waiting doesn't help you. It takes time to prepare a case. Please feel free to call me. I can help you.

Re: inury to lower back

You are entitled to receive your loss wages, all your medical bills and a lump sum settlement for whatever disability you have. There are many other variables to consider. For examples are you capable to do the same job as you did before. Can you perform equivalent jobs or do you have to get a job that pays less... and many other considerations.

The best decision you can make to protect yourself is to hire an attorney. That is the only way you can hope to level the field between yourself and the insurance companies who are there to only pay as little as they can to you.

Call my office if you need more information.

I hope this helps,
