Non-compete contract

I have a 2 year employment contract which includes a non-compete clause for 1 year. This contract ends at the end of the year. Due to some restructuring at the company I don't think it will be renewed. If I continue to work for this company into next year on a month to month term, without a contract then leave, is the non-compete clause from the expired contract enforceable? Thanks
