Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

Who pays for 3 days off or less?

I understand that Workmens Comp. Insurance pays for time off after the 3-day waiting period. BUT, if an employee gets hurt and is off for ONLY 3 days, is the EMPLOYER responsible for paying that time off?

If not, what if the employer has paid for this time off to other employees in the past?

Re: Who pays for 3 days off or less?

In Illinois, the employer does not pay for the first three days off work following a work related injury. If the disability keeps you off work for 14 days or more, then the employer is now obligated to pay for the first three days. I hope that answers your question.
