Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois
Recorded Statement
I have read that giving a recorded statement to the insurance co. can have bad results. My question is this. Would refusing to give a truthful statement to the ins. co. look deceitful to the commision? How can the truth about your accident hurt your case? Everybody that I work with has given a recorded statement about the accidents that they have had over the years without problems.

Re: Recorded Statement
There are different ways to tell the truth. One way may leave what you say open to a different interpretation and another way may not.
You should never give a recorded statement to someone who is NOT your friend without having first talked to an attorney to make sure you are prepared and made wise to all the traps the insurance adjuster will lay for you.
I hope this helps,
