Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois
unfair deal
I recently was injured at work and desperate for money so I signed a contract that my lawyer said was all I was able to get due to the Dr office I went to miswrote that I was not injured. I proceeded to get this resolved I recieved surgery for my leg but the company will not pay my medical bills or for my meds even though its part of the contract. My contract also was rewritten in certain areas after I signed it and I did not recieve a copy until it was all over. Do I have any right to question this and many flaws that I have about my case that my crapy lawyer didnt help me with?

Once you have signed a contract, the deal is over. Generally, unless specifically spelled out in the contract, medical care that takes place after the settlement is reached is excluded.
If you have questions about your settlement or there are parts you do not understand or find new, you must ask your attorney about them and in writing. Make an appointment with your lawyer and go see him and ask to be explained what is going on. Write down your questions before going to his office so that you don't forget what to ask.
If you are still not satisfied with the answers you receive you should talk to another attorney and have the work of the first attorney reviewed to make sure it is all consistent with the standard of care in this community.
