Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

Workmans Comp Claim

Sir, Madam,

If you had signed all of the settlement papers, your attorney, with whom you've been having extreme difficulty in talking to. If you signed all of the papers, including power of attorney, asked by your attorney. Why would said attorney, who is representing you, continue to file continuances? Even after, you and the company you'd worked for agreed to settle? Why?? So far he has filed 5 to 6 continuances! Does it make sense? Does this cost???

I have not heard from him since July 2006!

Re: Workmans Comp Claim

You need to contact the Illinois Worker's Compensation Commission as it does NOT make sense.

How do you know he has filed 5 to 6 "continuances" if you have not heard from him?

Worker's Compensation does not really have "continuances" so I do not fully understand your question.

If the case is settled you should have received your money with 45 days to 60 days at the longest unless the Respondent was not insured and breached the settlement agreement.

Good luck,

Matt Belcher
