The period of limitation is fixed as per the subject. You may want to read the Schedule given in Limitation Act.

However, generally it varies from 30 days to 90 days from the date a copy of judgement is received.

The Limitation Act states that the time to file an appeal in the High Court against the orders of the lower court is 90 days.However you can file the appeal with an application of Condonation of Delay after the expiry of limitation period if there is a geniune reason for the same. But to approve the same if the disriction of the High Court, ordinarily the application is acceptted.
