Re: time limit of judgement after hearing aurguments
The law requires a lower court to pronounce judgement within a 'reasonable' time. In a given situation, the judgement should be pronounced by the lower court no later than six months.
If judgement is given four years after hearing arguments, any party may pray for 're-hearing' of the case and a fresh decision.
There seems to be some mistake in your statement because in India the lower court judges are normally in one post for three years; if the arguments were heard four years before, it is possible that the arguments were heard by judge x and the judgement is delivered by judge Y. If that be the case, the judgement may be invalid.
