Legal Question in Banking Law in
Does an account gets automatically classified as 'dormant account' upon being non-active for more than 2years, and can a cheque be returned from that account as 'insufficient funds' or 'dormant account'?

Yes if the Account is lacking sufficient balance.

If there are no transactions in a current or savings account, normally, banks mark them as dormant and exercise caution when a cheque is issued against the same. That does not mean they can return a cheque issued on that account as 'insufficient funds' if otherwise the funds are sufficient or dormant.
