Legal Question in Banking Law in India
Hi,
I applied for a personal loan in fullerton india mogappair branch chennai. All the documents(including the photo) provided for loan process were sent through e-mail to the executive.I never was given a application reference number.I am a bachelor but the executive said its not a problem. He asked me to lie as if am living with family which i rejected. After few days he called me back and said verifications are done and the loan is approved. He asked me to provide 6 cheque leaflets A/C pay with payee name as Fullerton India for ECS initiation. He said, a personal discussion would be done with a manager and loan amount would be intimated. So I too gave him the cheque and attended a discussion with manager(am very sure that guy was not a manager,i guess he must be the executive's colleague). Then also they didnt provide the loan amount details. But actually the verification has started only after that. They confirmed me as a bachelor and rejected my loan. Now its been more than 20 days the executive has not yet returned my cheques. He said he would return but most of the time he is not attending my call itself. I am so agonised in the way it all happened and i am made a fool. Please suggest what can be done atleast to recover my cheque leaflets? can we charge the executives for fraud/cheating?
