My grandfahter was having a bank account in syndicate bank. He died in January 1996. The bank manager says this account was closed in 1997. But he is not answering how it was closed. He says old records are not available now. It has been 12 years since my grandfather died. Please advice how many years banks should compulsorly hold the records before destroying.
