blank cheque as such would not be honoured/encashed if it is not filled up with payee's name and amount of cheque in words and figures.. If the person/drawer who has signed the cheque has given authority to the person to whom he has given the blank cheque signed, the latter can fill it up for the amount legally due to him and the payee's name and have it presented whereupon the bank will honour the same. It is possible that a person to whom the blank cheque signed by the drawer to have it filled up with other particulars including any amount he would like to fill it up. Even then it can be encashed, but the drawer may dispute the same in a litigation.
