Cheque bounce
some one has given me a cheque in feb and i dropped it today as he was saying that he dont have money so he asked me to drop it today and it has been rejected what legal action can take against him.

you failed to mention whether or not the cheque was given in discharge of a debt due to you. If the cheque was for payment of amount due by the drawer to you, you can file a complaint under Sec.138 of the N.I.Act, if he fails to pay the amount within 15 days of receipt of notice of demand from you, provided you give the notice within thirty days of the return of the cheque by Bank.

You may issue a legal notice u/s. 138 of the NI Act with the help of advocate.

YOu can file a complaint u/s 138 of negotiable instruments act after sending notice thru your advocate for chq dishonour.However full details are not given by you.

you may file criminal complaint u/s.138 N.I.Act and also recovery suit for the cheque amount.Consult a lawyer.
