Cheque Bouncing - Return of Cheque Leaf
I was issued a cheque which got bounced. Now the issuer asks for the leaf saying that he will exchange it with equal amount of cash. How do I get the cheque from my bank?

When a cheque is bounced, it is returned to the payee by the bank alongwith a memo. The drawer is entitled to return of the cheque against payment.
You should approach your bank for return of the cheque.

Normally when a cheque given to your bank for collection is not honoured by the drawee bank, your bank would return the cheque to you. In case they have failed to return the cheque, you can legally demand them to return the cheque and thereupon as against payment by the drawer you can return the cheque to him
