Cheque validity.
For what period is a cheque valid since the date of issue. Request reference.

Re: Cheque validity.
In terms of proviso (a) of Sec.138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, it is six months from the date on which it is drawn (which has to be understood as the date appearing on the face of the cheque) or within the period of its validity, whichever is earlier. The later part refers to legend some times appearing on the cheque like dividend warrants as "valid for 3 months" etc.

its written on the cheque
usually its 6 months but some cheques do have validity of 3 months also so check ur cheque
