I want to change the name of my
proprietory firm. What all needs to
be done

if you have obtained some licences like from Municipality, shops register, sales tax authorities etc., you have to inform them of the name change. So also with your bank if you have account in firm's name.

There is no procedure for changing the name of the proprietory firm apart from amending you registration like Shops and Establishment, PF, etc.

It may be new firm. Therefore, you may need to complete all those formalities which you had completed initially at the time of starting the present firm.
