Legal Question in Banking Law in India
A company issued me a post-dated cheque for the services, which I rendered to the company as a consultant. Three of the company's partners have to sign on the cheque, but they cheated me by giving it to me with only 2 signatures on it. I came to know this thing after presenting the cheque. I am going to their office everyday from the last 4 days asking them to issue me another cheque, but they are not meeting me at all. I strongly believe that they have done this wantedly with an intention of cheating. It is causing me a lot of stress and pain. Is there any legal action that I can take against these guys ? Please advise.

Issue notice to the company and its partners demanding the amount due to you and also stating that with intent to cheat they had given cheques not properly drawn and threatening them with civil action and criminal prosecuttion against them. Do this with the assistance of a local lawyer.
