Legal Question in Banking Law in India
Dear Advisor,
I had issued Axis Bank cheques to HDFC bank as a part of EMI of my car loan. One of the cheque was returned due to signature mismatch. The bank is demanding charges for the return of cheque whereas i feel that i shuld not be charge as there was sufficient fund in my account. please clarify. If i am not required to pay any charges, kindly mention the reference of the law or rule so that i can quote it to the bank while communicating to them

You can call upon your bank to withdraw the claim for charges. If it is by HDFC Bank you have only to pay the same and claim compensation from your bank i.e. Axis Bank for wrongful dishonour of cheque.
