Re: deposit merging in advances

The depositors would get only dividends on the their deposits when the co-operative bank is in liquidation, unless the deposits are guaranteed by the Deposit guarantee corporation. You can complain to the Registrar of co-operative Banks and Reserve Bank of India about the harassment. You can complain even to the higher ups in Police. You can file an application to the Tribunal for co-operative banks offering the guarantee of the deposits of your friend and mother. You should consult a lawyer at your place in the matter and proceed.
