Legal Question in Banking Law in India
Intentionally Stop payment of Cheque is Offence or not,Example I was give Rs 50000.00 to my relative against a cheque in which he sign and mentioned date only.My question is that he knows the cheque date ,if he will instruct his banker for stop payment of the same Cheque what will be option left for me to claim the amount.

in case cheque was given against a due amount (means the giver is really liable tpo pay), he shall be punishable for the stop payment (will be treated equally as a bounce case). In case somebody has given a cheque as a gift (means not legally liable to pay) and later on make stop payment, he will not be liable
