Legal Question in Banking Law in India
I issued one cheque to one telephone company but was given to the company without signature. The telephone company presented it into the bank. Bounced and now the bank has charged Rs. 100/- and the telephone company Rs. 200/-. Can they charge ?

The telephone company should have returned the cheque if not signed by the drawer. Both the telephone company and the banker cannot charge the account holder for return of an unsigned cheque. But the problem is that to file a case against them for the wrongful debit you have to spend more than Rs.300/- .
