Legal Question in Banking Law in India
My mother passed away in India and left an FD without nominating anyone in a bank in India. The bank wants all the heirs to sign before it will equally divide the amount of the FD among us. Can I nominate my sister to get my share of the FD in my absence. What kind of form would I be required to sign ?

You can authorise her to receive the share by executing an authority letter duly attested by Indian embassy/consulate.
