non repayment of loan

my husband had taken a personal loan from a bank. he expired 3 months ago. I am not in a position to repay the loan amount. what if i dont repay?

Under Civil Laws the legal heirs are liable to the extent they inherit the properties . In fact if you have not inherited anything from your husband you would not be required to pay anything . But if you have some properties inherited from your husband you better settle the such account before the bank takes drastic steps

you are not personaly liable to pay the amount unless you inherited any property from husband.If you have inherited any property you may liable to the extent of property inherited.Though normaly personal loan granted without any security , the debt of husband will not cease to exist due to his death.The normal debtor and creditor realtionship would exist that will run with property of deceased.

Necessary details are missing.If you had inherited any property (movable or immovable)then you have to repay the loan amount but your liability is restricted to the tune of valuation of the inherited property.

If you have inheriated any kind of property then you are liable to repay the loan amount but your liabilities are restricted to some amount of the valuation of the inherited property.

there may be insurance option so check that out

and loan may be waived too so discuss with documents
