Legal Question in Banking Law in India

I paid all the amount transacted upon my credit card, however there was some dispute w.r.t. to interest and late fee, the transactions were made in the year 2002 and now i got a call in 2010 from credit card company that 67000 is due from your card and on going through the statement it is only the interest amount, they have piled up. pl advice

issue notice to the Bank chairman/chief Executive demanding him to rectify the deficiency. If he fails , make a complaint to the Banking Ombudsman, details of which you can access from RBI website.

If you failt to reach a compromise, you may consider filing a complaint with the local District Consumer Forum and claim damages.

you should have not left the amount unsettled. however, you may approach the bank for settlement of interest and seek waiver, failing which, the consumer forum option is there.
