sir a check i have received have bounced when i ? the bank manager told me that the person who gave me the check have closed his ac long back and also gave a police comp that his check book was lost what should i do i have been cheated please feel my pain

you may serve the notice under negotiable instruments act upon him within one month of dishonor of cheque.
When was the complaint lodged ? how many days or weeks before issuing this cheque to you ? Please clarify . I would not suggest you to send any notice without clarifying these questions or else you may get involved in a criminal matter yourself.
Proceed against the person who gave the cheque to you under Sec.138 of the N.I.Act within a month from the date of return of the cheque. Take the assistance of local lawyer.
