Legal Question in Banking Law in India
sir ,
i had icici bank credit card , same was last used on sept 2006 , with full payment . now bank has been adding some charges on my card eventhough it is not in use and demanind Rs.6,60,000 from me .
will the claim of bank will fall under time bar case , bank has to file criminal or civil case,

If the claim relates to September 2006, and if there is no acknowledgment in writing by you, then the claim is time barred. I presume that you have not given them any cheque after that date or they don't have any of your post dated cheque. Unless there is any bouncing of cheque, they cannot file any criminal case. If they file civil case, it can be defended on the ground of limitation. Hope you have replied to them that you don't owe them any amount.
If the charge is false and with respect to the transaction never made by you, it is advisable to file a complaint against the bank before the Consumer Forum. In particular, before the bank take any step U should move forward.
