Legal Question in Banking Law in India
Sir, I joined as Probationary Officer with a Nationalised Bank in India. The probation period in the bank was of 1 year. During my probation I signed on some loan proposals as recommending officer on advise of my Branch Manager. However subsequently during inspections many discrepancies were found in those loans including fake registries, incomplete documents, valuations on higher side etc. in most of them. As i signed the recommendations on trust basis and on advise of my branch head, i am totally innocent and i signed just with the belief of increasing the business of the branch and without any malafide intention. However the bank has ordered an inquiry into the matter and I have been put under suspension.
Please guide me, whether I have any defence in my favour in above matter.
Thanks
