Legal Question in Banking Law in India

summoned by the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court

I have been summoned by the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court. How should I proceed ? I had been served a notice regarding the dishonor of a cheque and had aptly replied to the same. The opposite party did not take any action post receiving my notice but has probably now taken some kind of action. Please let me know as to what can the implications of this look like ?

Re: summoned by the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court

You may be required to obtain bail on your next appearance in court. It may be better for you to engage a local counsel for conducting the case and getting you bail. You may better arrange finances to meet your liability arising out of check bouncing. Sooner or later, you may have to pay the money. Earlier the better. Your may failure may visit you a jail term.
