Legal Question in Banking Law in India
I work as a branch manager in a bank. Recently a person has sought some information about a customer's a/c including photocopies of his a/c opening form and address proof etc. under Right To Information Act.Under normal circumstances i can ask the customer for his consent, but my problem is the customer is absconding after duping the person who has sought information. Can i provide the info to an outsider about a customer's a/c even though the customer has cheated him and is not available on his given address?

As per Banking law, you can reply to him that you cannot disclose anything regarding a customer's account without his consent to any third party. Let the complainant seek legal redress through court.
