Legal Question in Business Law in India
I am a 45 years old business man and own a grocerry shop.Recently a sample of oil was being taken from my shop and been found inappropiate,and the same has been now submitted to court.The oil is of a good brand.Now i am puzzled as what to be done next?Should the case be made against me or the company as i have just given the market whatever i have received from the producer.I am realy confused.Please reply as soon as possible.

There is nothing to worry for you IF you have the original bill from where you purchased the material. They may not even prosecute you. The case should be against the producer only. However, you may need to engage a local lawyer to defend yourself, if you are summoned to face trial.
in case you are selling oil that has been packed by some company but you are selling it in a loose form and the sample turns out to be adulterated, a criminal case can be made against you. you may need to seek bail on technical grounds then.
