case of jewels purcashing

sir i want to know that i am jewels shop owner . i have purchase old jewels from customers . in a case i have purchase a person by a customer who has stolean the jewels from her relatives . the police aressted him and he say my shop name . the police came me and inquiry about that i am told the truth and submit the jewels . what can i do for recovery of that jewels or who can i prevent from that case . also know if i rejected to the purchasing of that jewel can i prevent or save.

Well!!! infact you should not purchase the jewels from any unkonwn person because even police can prosecute you for the crime. Further, it is difficult for you to take custody of the jeweller which has been handed over to the police because you are not the legal owner of the same. Though, you can proceed to prosecute against the accused for cheating.
