Legal Question in Business Law in India
Cheque bounce case..
We are distributors for several consumer electronics in Mumbai. A dealer, who is now shut shop, had given me 2 cheques out of which one got cleared and the other bounced. Of the second cheque that bounced, I have taken goods worth 50% of the amount of that cheque and the balance 50% he is yet to pay. It is almost over 2 months since this has happened. He is actually a builder, Mapkhan Group, who had started a couple of retail shops and now shut them down.
Please advise what action can I take..

You may contact a local lawyer and file a case under sec. 420 of the I.P.C.

From facts it seems you have crossed the limitation for filing case u/s 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. You can file case u/s 420 IPC.
