Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
I am an advocate practising in Bangalore, Karnataka appearing in courts on behalf of a co-operative bank. Now, elections to directors of the co-operative bank to which I am appearing, is announced. Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act Section 29-C(d) prohibits legal practitioners employed (repeat the word employed) by a co-operative society cannot be a contest for the post of director. Please clarify whether I can contest for the post of a director.
