I'm anupama, my parents gave me and my sister a land and for my brothers some cash in the past. Now my parents are no more and they had a house, which was mentioned that it belongs to all childrens. Now my brothers are trying to sell the with out giving my share. And they were saying that they can show the land given to me in the past as my share in the court. And i don't have any rights in the house. They have taken cash instead of land in the past. Give me ur sujesstion to get my share .

Dear Anupama,

(Brodipet, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh)

Since your parents have not specifically made a Will, the house belongs to all their sons and daughters and each has an equal right in the house. Your brothers cannot state that the sister has taken land instead of a share in the house as it will be very difficult for your brother to prove it in Court.
