Change of Surname

Is it possible for one to change the surname of an individual? Is this accepted by the Indian Court of Law? What are the implications? Also some advise on the procedures.

you can change name and surname but there are so many problems of getting it changed everywhere.

first thing is that you have to get the name change notice published in the local newspaper through advocate.

It is possible to change the surname.

Indian court are accepting the change of surname.

You have to file a Petition before the Mandal Revenue Officer for change of you name in the Government records. After making paper publication and publishing the same in the Government Gazattee the Mandal Revenue officer will issue proceedings in your favour.
